Brand Development

The green Room

The Green Room is more than just a plant store: it offers a sense of community, inspiration, and a space to grow in your ability to care for plants. This new business is a combination plant store, DIY terrarium bar, and community gathering space.

I worked the founders, Dara and Sammy, to develop the shop's brand strategy and identity in advance of their store opening in the heart of Asheville, NC. We did a deep dive into the business's core values, goals, and audience, getting really clear on what sets the Green Room apart from other plant shops. The founders have an incredible vision to create a space that nurtures and inspires the relationship between plants and people.

Once I created a clear positioning statement and brand strategy, I began designing with natural, warm, retro colors and shapes to reflect the shop's down-to-earth nature. I also developed a custom font and illustrated logomark to accompany four variations on the logo. Other deliverables included a custom color palette, typography styling, brand patterns, and a comprehensive brand guideline booklet.

One of the best parts of this project was bringing Dara and Sammy's vision to life. They understand the heart of their business so well, it was so fulfilling to get to make the concepts tangible through visuals. If you're ever in Asheville, be sure to check out the shop!
